Two Murdered; One to Go (Feb 2015)
What do these three have in common? They are all secular tyrants who ruled with an iron fist. We in the West like to think that we liberated Iraq and Libya from tyranny, and now Syria (as well as other nations). But we forget that this part of the world is home to sociopathic religious extremists, and that an iron fist is exactly what is needed to keep them in check. Iraq, Libya and Syria were unquestionably safer and more politically stable with secular tyrants in control — their citizens, on the whole, much happier. But when secular tyrants are removed, the vacuum created sucks in religious sociopaths like Al Qaeda and ISIS, who bring only savagery and chaos. The question is: was this really an unexpected side-effect of naive foreign policy, or are our leaders, and the rogue nations that influence them, deliberately fomenting wars for political ends? After all, perpetual war is needed to: justify domestic power grabs and the erosion of civil liberties; raise military spending and warrant lucrative defence contracts; flout international law and democratic principles; expand empires; and create a distraction from unpopular domestic policy. We should always remember: War profits the elite; peace profits the people.
The Rise of Evil ISIS and the Stupidity of the West (10 Aug 2014)
Less than a year ago, David Cameron and Barack Obama were pushing for war against Assad and directly supporting the Syrian rebels, which included ISIS — making a pact with the devil to further their own and Israel's political agendas. If it wasn't for Russia's counterbalancing support for the Assad's forces, ISIS could now be in full control of Syria. As it is, they are in control of part of Syria and have moved into the vacuum left in Iraq, a consequence of Bush and Blair's decision to remove Saddam Hussein and bring democracy to the Iraqi people. The truth we are now realising is that the dictator Saddam was the only leader ruthless enough to be able to keep Islamic radicals in check, and with him out of the way, Iraq is falling to the Islamic radicals. ISIS are currently executing, beheading and crucifying their bloody way to their radical Islamic ends, and the West is only now beginning to react to the chaos they fomented. The rivers of blood that ISIS are releasing are a reminder that we need to stop trying to export Western democracy to countries that cannot appreciate it, and dissuade our governments from constantly meddling in energy-rich Islamic countries. The Annihilation of the Palestinians (18 July 2014)
The media usually likes to present the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as a tit-for-tat killing spree fuelled by decades of deep and intractable racial hatred. But we forget that the Israeli military, for its size, is one of the best equipped in the world, and the disparity between Israeli deaths and Palestinian deaths is massive. In the latest conflict, for example, 3 Israeli murders by Palestinian thugs led to the Israeli government launching a military offensive that has killed nearly three hundred mostly-civilian Palestinians (with thousands injured and tens of thousands displaced) with only a single Israeli military casualty. This is not tit-for-tat violence — this is genocide. You want to see the real face of Israeli 'defence' that the Western media never covers? Click here
This is the personal stories of Jewish peace activists who have come to terms with their faith's central role in Middle East conflict. Avigail Abarbanel grew up in Israel where she was indoctrinated into the Zionism. However, when she was older, she realized that she was living a lie, a lie that was the root of terrible suffering. Jews in Israel are brought up in the shadow of anti-Semitism to fear and distrust anyone from another culture, especially Arabs, and to mask that fear with the dangerous ideology of Jewish supremacy, a worldview fuels the barbaric treatment of Palestinians by Israel.
Israel Acts With Impunity (10 June 2010)
If any other country acted with the lawlessness, ruthlessness and barbarism that Israel routinely does today, it would, at the very least, suffer trade sanctions. But Israel can act with impunity because it has unconditional US backing. So we have a rogue nation, under the illusion of its divine right to flout international law and human morality, acting truly like an enfant terrible — thugs who can murder anyone they please and destroying anything that gets in the way of their Zionist objectives. It is okay for Israel to have illegal nuclear weapons, but it's not okay for Iran to pursue legal nuclear power. It is okay for Israel to steal land from others, but it is not okay for those others to oppose the theft (and if they do they are branded terrorists). It is okay for Israel to perpetrate war crimes, but if you even suggest accountability you will be branded an anti-Semite. It is time for Jews around the world to condemn Israel/Zionism and stand up for humanity and international law, just as it is also time for Muslims everywhere to condemn Islamic fanaticism. At the root of the problem is religion: can you really worship a barbaric god without turning into a barbarian? If your god is barbaric, take a close look at yourself and your country.
Iraq War Inquiry Farce (Jan 2010)
Despite being chaired by a government stooge, the Chilcot Enquiry is inadvertently (and embarrassingly for the government) digging up a lot more than it is comfortable dealing with. The bottom line is that the war was illegal, and so government ministers, including Blair, who ignored legal advice and invaded Iraq (killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people in the process) must be guilty of war crimes by definition (and such crimes of aggression cannot be mitigated by Blair harping on about how he believed he was doing the right thing at the time — I am sure the Hitler sincerely believed, with equal conviction, that he was doing the right thing. So when this new inquiry turned its attention to the strange death of Dr. David Kelly, a former UN weapons inspector who committed "suicide" before he could publish a 40,000 word book exposing government lies on non-existent WMDs and information on secret germ warfare experiments, it was reveiled that his medical records had been classified for 70 years. In reality, the circumstances around Kelly's "suicide" are highly suspicious, and it is most likely that he was murdered by MI5 agents who were seen at his house half an hour before his body was found, and who carted off the computer on which his book was written. Kelly, a micro-biologist, believed that the Israelis are working on viruses that target Arabs (12 other senior germ-warfare micro-biologists linked have "died" over the past decade). The Arrest of Professor Joseph Moshe (13 Aug 09)
Joseph Moshe is a biological scientist who made the mistake of contacting a radio show in the US to warn listeners that pharmaceutical giant Baxter are deliberately trying to start a plague using vaccines as bio-weapons. The next day his car was surrounded by a SWAT team and he has since disappeared. We had a Youtube video link of it but that video has strangely disappeared.
Tony Blair: Middle East "Peace Envoy" (Feb/Mar 2009)
The man who deliberately misled Britain into the illegal invasion of Iraq which killed hundreds of thousands of its citizens, and then who turned a blind-eye to the US torture program, is now being paid large amounts of money as an international "peace envoy" for the Middle East, helping to broker peace between Israel and the Palestinians. If this wasn't ridiculous enough, he has also recently accepted a bribe — the 2009 Dan David Prize of $1m from Tel Aviv University for his "exceptional leadership and steadfast determination in helping to engineer agreements and forge lasting solutions to areas in conflict." Considering the facts, including the recent revelation that Blair even refused to debate the Iraq invasion with his own cabinet, this is clearly a cynical attempt by an "academic" institution to buy political favor, and presents a huge conflict of interest for Blair in his new "peace envoy" role. But as nobody really takes his new role seriously, he will no doubt be able to continue this farcical charade.
At the 2008 Crashing the Party convention, former UN Weapons Inspector, Scott Ritter, made a remarkable speech: even though he is a patriotic American, he confessed that the majority of his own people were "sick" because they believe that the US has a right to not only unilaterally dictate terms to the rest of the world, but also to help itself to other country's resources, in violation to international law, to maintain their addiction to rampant consumerism. In the US now, thanks to a virtual media monopoly that has dumbed-down its citizens so that they are now some of the most ignorant and ill-informed people on the face of the Earth, war has become entertainment, a chance for Americans to feel good about themselves as their armed forces mete out "shock and awe" on millions of foreign and frightened citizens. World peace actually hangs in the balance because of the actions of one country — America (two countries if you count Israel). If you are an American, you are urged to listed to Ritter's speech and understand that you are not being "unpatriotic" if you choose to support the vision of your Founding Fathers rather than the nightmare of your current political leaders. To view Ritter's talk, click here. At the same convention, former CIA analyst, Ray McGovern, also gave a talk.
It is a double or nothing gamble placed by the US government to try to stop the chaos and bloodshed in Iraq spiraling out of control. And it is bound to fail because the US Army's own counter-insurgency field manual states that "at minimum, 20 combat troops for every 1,000 people in the population" are needed to stamp out insurgency. Therefore, Baghdad alone would require 120,000 troops whereas the US presence in the whole of Iraq is currently only 70,000. But there is another fatal flaw in Bush's policy in that it assumes that there are a fixed number of Iraqi insurgents that need to be destroyed before the country will be at peace. But insurgents are mostly ordinary Iraqi young men who, from their perspective, are waging a legitimate terrorist campaign against infidel invaders, invaders who are politically linked with their arch-enemy, Israel. As a result, the more America commits to Iraq and the longer its occupation, the greater the insurgency it will face. Like with Vietnam, this is a no-win situation and the only viable solution is to withdraw despite the consequences. To do otherwise may save lives in the short-term, but from a long-term perspective such actions will only make matters worse.
Thirteen of the most prominent physicists in the US have written a letter to President Bush describing his government's consideration to use nuclear weapons against Iran as "gravely irresponsible", warning that such action would have "disastrous consequences for the security of the United States and the world." The letter was put together by Jorge Hirsch, a physics professor at the University of California, and was signed by a collection of eminent scientists including five Nobel laureates. It was sent to the President along with a petition signed by more than 1,800 physicists against the use of such weapons in preemptive strikes. Hirsch writes, "We are members of the profession that brought nuclear weapons into existence, and we feel strongly that it is our professional duty to contribute our efforts to prevent their misuse. Physicists know best about the devastating effects of the weapons they created, and these eminent physicists speak for thousands of our colleagues." He goes on to say that, "Once the U.S. uses a nuclear weapon again, it will heighten the probability that others will too. In a world with many more nuclear nations and no longer a 'taboo' against the use of nuclear weapons, there will be a greatly enhanced risk that regional conflicts could expand into global nuclear war, with the potential to destroy our civilization." more
Highlight of Galloway's Testimony to Senate (17 May 2005)
"Now, Senator, I gave my heart and soul to oppose the policy that you promoted. I gave my political life's blood to try to stop the mass killing of Iraqis by the sanctions on Iraq which killed one million Iraqis, most of them children, most of them died before they even knew that they were Iraqis, but they died for no other reason other than that they were Iraqis with the misfortune to born at that time. I gave my heart and soul to stop you committing the disaster that you did commit in invading Iraq. And I told the world that your case for the war was a pack of lies.
"I told the world that Iraq, contrary to your claims, did not have weapons of mass destruction. I told the world, contrary to your claims, that Iraq had no connection to al-Qaeda. I told the world, contrary to your claims, that Iraq had no connection to the atrocity on 9/11 2001. I told the world, contrary to your claims, that the Iraqi people would resist a British and American invasion of their country and that the fall of Baghdad would not be the beginning of the end, but merely the end of the beginning.
"Senator, in everything I said about Iraq, I turned out to be right and you turned out to be wrong, and 100,000 people paid with their lives; 1600 of them American soldiers sent to their deaths on a pack of lies; 15,000 of them wounded, many of them disabled forever, on a pack of lies.
"If the world had listened to Kofi Annan, whose dismissal you demanded, if the world had listened to President Chirac, who you want to paint as some kind of corrupt traitor, if the world had listened to me and the anti-war movement in Britain, we would not be in the disaster that we are in today. Senator, this is the mother of all smokescreens: you are trying to divert attention from the crimes that you supported, from the theft of billions of dollars of Iraq's wealth.
"Have a look at the real Oil-for-Food scandal. Have a look at the 14 months you were in charge of Baghdad, the first 14 months when $8.8 billion of Iraq's wealth went missing on your watch. Have a look at Halliburton and other American corporations that stole not only Iraq's money, but the money of the American taxpayer.
"Have a look at the oil that you didn't even meter, that you were shipping out of the country and selling, the proceeds of which went who knows where? Have a look at the $800 million you gave to American military commanders to hand out around the country, without even counting it or weighing it.
"Have a look at the real scandal breaking in the newspapers today, revealed in the earlier testimony in this committee: that the biggest sanctions busters were not me or Russian politicians or French politicians. The real sanctions busters were your own companies with the connivance of your own Government."(You can view the entire confrontation on the BBC website. We like Galloway's stand against the illegal invasion of Iraq and how he has stood up to the Senate, but we do not endorse his general politics and personal opinions.)
