How to Detoxify from Mercury Amalgam Fillings

Klaus Ferlow, HMH, HA—01/2014
If you have mercury amalgam fillings in your mouth, mercury detoxes are a must. This is because mercury is a very poisonous metal and just the act of chewing will release potentially dangerous amounts of mercury into your body.

SINCE ROMAN TIMES cilantro has been used as food and a medicine. A study by Dr. Yoshiaki Omura from the Heart Disease Research Foundation, New York, N.Y. has discovered that the herb cilantro will detoxify mercury from neural tissue and is used to help stimulate the appetite and relieves minor digestive irritation. This is a remarkable discovery. It is a novel technique, which greatly increases our ability to clear up- recurring infections, both viral and bacterial. Bioactive cilantro blend (coriander/yellow dock herbal tincture) is an inexpensive, easy way to remove (or chelate) toxic metals from the nervous system and body tissues.

Cilantro blend contains yellow dock to help drain the mercury from the connective tissue. Little is known about the origins of the coriander plant, that is the other name for cilantro, although it is generally thought to be a native to the Mediterranean and parts of Southwestern Europe. Experts believe its use dates back to at least 5000 BC. References to coriander can be found in the Sanskrit writings, and the seeds were often placed in Egyptian tombs. Today, cilantro is cultivated in tropical and subtropical countries throughout the world.

Yellow dock has been known as a medicinal plant since ancient times, and has been used as laxative or mild astringent tonic. In the nineteenth century, it was considered a blood purifier and was prescribed for eruptive diseases, such as scrofula, and skin problems. The cilantro blend is working through increasing the ability of the liver and related organs to filter and purify the blood and lymph system. Achieves its tonic properties through astringent purification of the blood supply to the glands and acts as cleansing herb for the lymphatic system.

Cilantro Chelation Pesto:

Heavy metal poisoning is rampant. It is a major factor causing hormonal imbalances, cancer, thyroid problems, neurological disturbances, learning problems, food allergies, parasites etc. The recipe for cilantro chelation pesto is not only easy to make but also really yummy, and it tells you how to remove metals from the body! Here is the recipe:

4 cloves garlic

1/3 cup brazil nuts (selenium)

1/3 cup sunflower seeds (cysteine)

1/3 cup pumpkin seeds (zinc, magnesium)

2 cups packed fresh cilantro (coriander, Chinese parsley, vitamin A)

2/3 cup flax seed oil

4 tablespoon lemon juice (vitamin C)

2 tsp dulse powder

Himalayan crystal and/or sea salt to taste

Process the cilantro and flax seed in a blender until the coriander is chopped. Add the garlic, nuts and seeds, dulse powder and lemon juice and mix until the mixture is finely blended into a paste. Consider doing this cleanse for three weeks at least once a year. The pesto is delicious on toast, baked potatoes, and pasta. It has been proven to chelate toxic metals from the body in a relative short period of time. Two teaspoons daily for three weeks is enough to increase urinary excretion of mercury, lead, and aluminum..

Chlorella algae is the main agent used in the detoxification process which have been proven to bind with and remove toxic metals from the body. Take chlorella supplementation at your highest comfortable tolerance. For the first eight days with meals dividing it into small doses throughout the day. On days nine and ten take ten times tor usual dose, but not more than 60 capsules in a single day. Days 11 and 12 are a “rest” period and no chlorella should be taken these days. The following day, begin the 12-day cycle again. Also a high protein diet is essential to mercury detoxification. Other helpful supplements include vitamin C and magnesium, vitamin E, thioctic acid and N-acetyl-cysteine.

Are there any other alternatives to detoxify?

A herbal Milk Thistle combo tincture can also work very well, cleansing the the liver (with nettle), detoxifying the liver and kidneys (milk thistle), purifying the blood (dandelion), boosting the immune system (cat's claw).

A Soft Heat infrared sauna is recommended for detoxification and the clinical goal is to convert mercury into a state of enabling it to be removed from the cells and eliminated from the brain, connective tissues, lymph system, liver, kidneys and gastrointestinal tract.

Furthermore chelation therapy using chemicals like EDTA is also very popular and has been used for many years in Canada.

Do dental amalgam fillings contain toxic material?

Silver fillings are made up of five different metals, amalgamated together to form a solid mass which hardens in the mouth/teeth. The main ingredients in amalgam is mercury, which accounts for about 50% of the complete filling. The other ingredients are silver, copper, tin, zinc and occasionally nickel. It has been shown that mercury continuously relieved from mercury dental fillings in the form of mercury vapor and abraded particles.

The process is further stimulated and be increased 15-fold by simply chewing (Americans are known of chewing gums with aspartame, the artificial sweetener being harmful to your teeth), brushing the teeth, hot drinks and even swishing your mouth with a solution of hydrogen peroxide, used to reduce dental plaque. Mercury is extremely poisonous – published research from two scientists at Utah State University shows that mercury is more toxic than lead, cadmium and even arsenic – accumulating over time various tissues of the body, particularly he brain and kidneys.

In human autopsy studies it has been that there is a direct correlation between the amount of mercury found in the brain and the number of mercury fillings in the mouth. In essence, all of the elements comprising dental amalgam are toxic metals. Mercury has a very high absorption rate and is capable of entering the human body very rapidly and complete and the vapor is fat soluble and neutral electrically. It has the ability to easily penetrate cell membranes and pass rapidly into the body from the blood into the body cells and stays there.

What are the systemic effects in the body?

  • neurological: frequent or chronic headaches, dizziness, ringing or noises in the ears,

  • fine tremors: (hands, feet, lips, eyelids, and tongue)

  • immunological: allergies, rhinitis (inflammation of the nose), sinusitis, asthma, lymphaddenopathy (especially cervical or neck)

  • endocrine: subnormal temperatures, cold, clammy skin, especially hands and feet, excessive perspiration

  • other: muscle weakness, chronic fatigue, hypoxia (lack of oxygen), anorexia, joint pains, anemia, edema (swelling), loss of weight, hallucinations, manic depression

Besides mercury amalgam fillings there is a daily intake from mercury derived air, water, food (fish) as well as from clothes, paints. However, the effects of heavy metal poisoning tend to be slow as the toxicity builds up. Other symptoms are upset stomach, colics, insomnia, poor concentration, lack of coordination, multiple sclerosis, hyperactivity, muscle weakness, mental disturbances, memory loss, impotence, reproductive disorders, mental retardation, blindness, constipation, nausea, vomiting, paralysis of the extremities, insanity and appetite loss! Scary isn't?

How safe is removing mercury from amalgam fillings?

Dr. Omura performed another study in which three amalgams were removed from an individual using all of the precautions available to prevent absorption of mercury from the amalgam. Even with strong air and water suctioning, water rinses and a rubber dental dam, significant amounts of mercury were later found in the lungs, kidneys, endocrine organs, liver and heart of the individual. No mercury was detected in these tissues prior to the date of removal.

It is therefore very important that you need to continue detoxifying your body!
